It is well known that Thala Dhoni the face of Chennai Super Kings is a hardcore fan of Superstar Rajinikanth. He has on many occassions not only revealed the same in interviews but has also done photoshoots in the legendary actor's style that went viral.
Meanwhile the fifteenth season of the IPL is currently underway with two new teams added to the earlier eight teams. A promo for the tournament was shot in which M.S. Dhoni dressed in Rajini style is seen as a bus driver who stops his vehicle in the middle of a busy road. When the traffic policeman questions him Dhoni tells him that his passengers are watching a super over on the television outside implying that everything can wait during the IPL craze.
The photos and the video went viral on the internet and fans of Rajinikanth were mighty pleased by Dhoni's tribute to him by imitating him. However the promos have now been pulled down after the ASCI imposed a ban on it.
The Consumer Unity and Trust Society filed a complaint with the Advertising Standards Council of India which found that the ad devalued the importance of a traffic officer as well as sent the wrong message about traffic jams. The advertisement company was adviced to either modify the ad or take it down completely before April 20th and the representative chose the latter.
When it's the #TATAIPL, fans can go to any extent to catch the action - kyunki #YehAbNormalHai!
