The neighboring stateof Kerala is a huge market for Tamil films as the state has so many Tamil speaking population and most Malayalees can either speak or at least understand Tamil. Especially the state has a huge fan following for Thalapathy Vijay and Thala Ajith.

Though Kerala is considered as the fort of Thalapathy, even Thala is inching closer to his arch rival. This is proved in the pre-release expectations and the scale of release of Thala's upcoming mega budget film 'Vivegam'.

It has been confirmed that 'Vivegam' will be released in more than 300 screens across Kerala which is a remarkable number for a non-Rajini, non-Vijay Tamil film. The film is being released by popular Malayalam producer-distributor Tomichan Mulakuppadam who produced Mohanalal starrer blockbuster 'Pulimurugan' last year.

'Vivegam' will have as many as 1000 shows screened across the state on the first day of its release that is August 24, 2017. This is another remarkable feat for the Thala film.
