Thala Ajith's 'Vivegam' was earlier expected to hit the screens on August 10, 2017 for the long weekend over the Independence Day holiday falling on August 15th. However now the makers have announced that the film will be releasing only on August 24, 2017.

Despite the change of release date, 'Vivegam' will be enjoying the prospects of a festival holiday weekend. The Vinayakar Chathurthi festival, holiday falls on August 25, 2017, Friday. This means the film will be getting a four day weekend at the Box office.

There is another fantastic luck factor attached with this release date. Ajith's grand 50th film 'Mankatha' also released for the 'Vinayakar Chathurthi' festival weekend in the year 2011. That too the day before the festival day. 'Mankatha' released on August 31, 2011 while the festival was on September 1st.

'Mankatha' turned out to be one of the biggest blockbusters in the career of Ajith and we can be assured that 'Vivegam' will be another landmark in his career.
