Thala Ajith the very name spells magic to the millions of youngsters who consider him as a role model as well as churn out big money at the box office. Today the 3rd of August happens to be a memorable milestone day for the box office King as he signed his first film 'Amaravathi' on 3/8/1992.
Ajith was recommended for the film by singer S.P. Balasubramaniam who played the lead in Selva's previous film 'Thalaivasal'. An avid bike racer at that time, Ajith met with an unfortunate accident and was bed ridden for close to twenty months. His voice was dubbed by Vikram who later became another notable superstar in Tamil cinema.

Twenty six years have passed and Ajith has grown in stature as the biggest draw in South Indian cinema through sheer hard work and fierce individuality. His new film 'Viswasam' directed by Siva and costarring Nayanthara is progressing fast and is expected to release on Pongal 2019.
