Thala Ajith is replacing Amitabh Bachan in the Tamil remake of 'Pink' which has started filming under the working title 'Thala 59' from December 14th onwards. Director H Vinoth has made major changes to the script to suit the sensibilities of the Tamil audiences.

It has already been confirmed that Nazriya Nazim has been signed on to play the female lead played by Tapsee Pannu in the original and Kalyani Priyadarshan is set to play one of the three girls as well. Popular journalist Rangaraj Pandey is making his acting debut as the chief antagonist while director Adhik Ravichandran too plays a negative role.

Producer Boney Kapoor has revealed to media in Mumbai that Vidya Balan has been signed on to play Ajith's pair. This will be the first Kollywood film for Tamil girl Vidya Balan who has passed on many projects before this but has finally given her nod to share screen space with Thala.
