Oxford’s dictionary is considered to be the world’s most standard authority on the meaning of words. The dictionary is widely referred to by students, scholars and academicians globally. Recently, Oxford updated the dictionary with new words from regional languages into their dictionary.

Among the many updated words, an interesting addition was ‘Anna’ meaning ‘elder brother’ from the tamil language.  Explaing the meaning to the term, in an example sentence, Oxford has used Thala Ajith’s name as well. The example sentence reads: “I got to act with Ajith anna”.

This news has become a reason to rejoice for the Thala fans as their favorite star’s name has found its way into an organisation’s dictionary that is at the forefront of academic authority.
