The incident that made Thala Ajith cry and still he took bold decision

Thala Ajith has built through hard work the reputation of being the undisputed box office king of Kollywood and he has the enviable fan following who adore him and see him as their biggest inspiration. There are many memorable incidents that costars and filmmakers have shared about the much-loved hero and here is one more that is pretty awe-inspiring.

Its the twentieth anniversary of the mulstistarrer 'Kandukonden Kandukonden' directed by Rajeev Menon and produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu and the director has gone nostalgic about the project to a leading Tamil weekly. The first choice for the role of the aspiring filmmaker was Prashanth but he refused to play the pair of Tabu and instead wanted changes to the script so that Aishwarya Rai could be his love interest.

Rajeev Menon then opted for Ajith and the amazing thing is that he was hospitalized at the time due to back trouble and okayed the script in the hospital bed. The ace director then shared that during the making of the song 'Enna Seyya Pogirai' the shoot was in the desert heat which further aggravated Thala's back pain.

Rajeev Menon recalls that one particular shot was on a railway track and everytime a train would pass they had to remove the set and then put it on again and shoot. At one such interval Ajith unable to bear the pain had gone and slept inside the truck used to carry cranes. When the shot was ready and Ajith was called to the location the director was shocked to see that he was in tears and he offered to cancel the shoot.

But Ajith just wiped off his tears and not wanting the shooting to be affected by him braved the pain and continued to perform the demanding steps. His courage was lauded by the cast and crew and till today the song is one of the most favorites of Thala hits.
