Thala Ajith had delivered a blockbuster this year with Viswasam directed by Siva, and recently finished shooting for Ner Konda Paarvai directed by H Vinoth, while Thalapathy Vijay's last release was AR Murugadoss directorial Sarkar and he is now acting Thalapathy 63 by Atlee.

Even as their current projects are yet to release, buzz is out on their next movies, with H Vinoth speculated to be directing Thala 60, and that this movie movie will be produced by Boney Kapoor again, and at the other end, Thalapathy 64 is said to be directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj of Maanagaram fame.

Now the latest speculation is that, both Thalapathy 64 and Thala 60 will be released in Summer 2020, and it is being widely reported that the two movies might clash with each other. While an official announcement has not come regarding the release dates, it must be noted that the last time Ajith and Vijay movies clashed at the box office was when Veeram and Jilla released on Pongal 2014.
