After the stupendous success of 'Viswasam' directed by Siruthai Siva and produced by Sathyajyothi Films, Ajith is gearing up to shoot 'Thala 59' aka 'AK59' directed by H. Vinod. The project is the remake of the Bollywood hit 'Pink' starring Amitabh Bachan and Tapsee Pannu.

Boney Kapoor the producer of 'Thala 59' had announced last year itself that the film will hit the screens on May 1st which also happens to be Ajith's birthday as well. But yesterday Studio Green made the announcement that the Sivakarthikeyan- Nayanthara romantic comedy 'Mr. Local' directed by M. Rajesh will release on May Day. Trade pundits have started speculations that there is a change in the release plans of the Ajith movie as otherwise, no producer will risk a head-on collision with the box office king.

However, the 'Petta' vs 'Viswasam' clash proved many analysts wrong by both the movies registering phenomenal business. We will have to wait for the official word whether Ajith and Sivakarthikeyan will lock horns at the box office or not.
