As 'Viswasam' is nearing completion and gearing up for a grand Pongal 2019 release, the focus has now shifted to the box office king's next project 'Thala 59'. It is common knowledge that the film would be adapted from the Bollywood hit 'Pink' starring Amitabh Bachan with the character altered to suit Ajith's image. H. Vinod is writing the screenplay as well as directing while Boney Kapoor is the producer.

There were reports that A.R. Rahman has been roped in to score the music for 'Thala 59' but it is now more or less confirmed that Yuvan Shankar Raja is on board. It is said that just like 'Pink' the Tamil version too would not have any songs and YSR would only be creating the background score while a single might be tuned. Of course, it is too early to come to any conclusion on this project as the pre-production work is still underway and we have to wait for the official confirmation.
