Thailand’s SF World Cinema organized a one-day promotional campaign where customers can bring any container to purchase an unlimited amount of popcorn, as long as it can be put into the container.
Moviegoers definitely rose to the challenge, showing up to the theatre with their biggest containers and storage boxes in tow. Sadly, the management decided to close the queue from 5pm yesterday (28 Nov). According to their Facebook post, there were service delays as customers brought containers of different shapes and sizes.
The management then decided to extend their opening hours from 10pm to 12am for those with queue numbers. Customers who were unable to get their popcorn by the new closing time left their containers at the outlet.
The promotion includes unlimited refills of soft drinks for all day that cost 199 Thai baht (about 5.56 US Dollars) during opening hours. The campaign follows after a cinema in Vietnam launched a similar promotion to encourage more people to watch movies in the theatres.
