The rescue of the twelve boys and coach from the Tham Luang cave in Thailand garnered international attention. Hundreds of personnel were involved in the rescue mission including expert divers from all over the world. But how many of us know that India too played a very crucial role in the mission?
Didn’t think so right?
Yes, our Indian team was the one which offered technical expertisde in fluid management through Kirloskar Brothers Limited branch in Thailand. Our embassy in Thailand made this possible.
“The generosity offered by India’s private and public sectors reflected, indeed, the close and cordial ties and friendship between our two countries and peoples. . . . I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to Your Excellency and the people of the Republic of India for the kind offer to contribute tot he efforts to rescue the boys and the coach,” an official release from the Thai government stated.
Isn’t that wonderful? The Thai rescue mission has taught us one thing. At the heart of every nation, every individual surpassing differences, there is of course a sweet spot called ‘humanity’.
