The lives of 12 boys and a coach who are trapped in the Tham Luang cave are in great danger despite efforts to save them by the authorities. The boys have written letters to their family which is endearing at the same time filled with hope even during times of difficulty.
In most of the letters, the children expressed hope that they’ll be home soon while some asked for their favourite meals upon reaching. Here are some of the letters:
“Don’t worry, I’m fine. Please tell Yod to take me out to a fried chicken shop,” one boy said.
“I love you father and mother and Toy. If we can get out, please can you take me to eat at a pan-fried pork restaurant? I love you,”another said.
One boy wrote: “Don’t worry that I am missing for two weeks, I will help you at the shop soon.”
Another wrote: “I’m fine but it’s a little bit cold, don’t worry and don’t forget my birthday.”
“Don’t worry about us now, I miss everyone. I want to go back now,” one more boy wrote.
The 25 year old coach also promised to take care of the kids and also stated that he wanted to apologise to the parents.
The officials involved in the rescue mission have been able to drain water out of a section of cave even though some parts of the cave are heavily flooded and would require diving.
Letter from Coach Aek to the parents: The children are well. The rescue team are looking after us well. I promise I will look after your children to the best of my ability. Thank you for your support. I want to also sincerely apologize to all of the parents. #ThamLuang #Thailand pic.twitter.com/Sx1Wu13FHW
