Thadam directed by Magizh Thirumeni, which was his second movie with actor Arun Vijay after Thadaiyara Thaakka was one of the successful movies of the year, and the movie had Arun Vijay in dual roles. Besides Vidya Pradeep, the movie also marked the debut of actress Smruthi Venkat.

Smruthi Venkat was later signed to play the female lead in a movie starring Abhinay Vaddi, and now she has bagged another interesting multistarrer. Smruthi Venkat has been signed to play one of the two female leads in the movie Agni Natchathiram directed by debutant Sharan.

Taking its name from the popular Maniratnam directed Superhit of the 80s, this new movie will have actors Vidharth and Udhaya as the heroes, and will be shot in Chennai, Coimbatore and Yelagiri. Agni natchathiram has music by YR Prasand, LK Vijay will handle the cinematography and Ratsasan San Lokesh will handle editing.
