That Magizh Thirumeni is a former associate of Gautham Vasudev Menon is enough to explain the importance he would give to music. In his second film as a director and first film with Arun Vijay, the filmmaker, in the association of young composer Thaman S, has come out with an interesting collage of songs. 'Thadaiyara Thaakka' album has everything you would expect. There is melody, 'kuthu', duet et al, not to forget a theme music which conveys the basic idea of the movie. Kelamale: Listen here A breezy number penned by Karky, 'Kelamale...' makes an interesting listen. A pleasant song, it carries Thaman's trademark of grabbing our attention with minute things. Aalap Raju and Rita have done complete justice. Poondhamallee Thaan: Listen here The very mention of the name L R Easwari conveys that it's going to be an energetic number. And the song lives up to all expectations. Another highlight is that 'Poondhamallee...' has been sung in association with L R Easwari by Arun Vijay and Solar Sai. Kaalangal: Listen here A melody duet, 'Kaalangal...' starts off with Chinmayee's mellifluous rendition and the way Javed Ali's voice blends with that of Chinmayee is beautiful. Thaman's orchestration gives the much needed back-up. Kelamale (Unplugged): Listen here 'Kelamale...' is back, this time Thaman replacing Aalap Raju. The music composer proves that he is a good singer too. Some slight yet interesting changes to the original version make the unplugged version more interesting. Theme: Listen here And here comes the Theme music, which is almost like a trailer to the movie. Thaman has mixed many an instrument and genre to make it quirky and racy. The title 'Thadaiyara Thaakka' is oft-repeated with unlimited energy. Expect good music from 'Thadaiyara Thaakka', and the album will not disappoint you. |
