Thaarika becomes India's first transgender medical student after fighting for her rights

We had earlier carried a news about how a transgender girl Thaarika was denied medical seat by the TN government inspite of the existence of a seperate quota for the third gender.  READ : Will Transgender girl's doctor dream be realised?

After a relentless fight for justice by Thaarika's caretaker mother Grace Banu, advocate Sanjeev Kumar, Communists Solomon Pathipooranam and H. Sudharshan the seemingly impossible has been achieved.  Thaarika has now become india's first transgender medical student and we wish her the very best to become a medical proffessional as per her dream and achieve big in the field.
