The music release of Vikram starrer 'Thaandavam', the 25th venture of G V Prakash Kumar, was a grand affair in Chennai on Wednesday evening.

Since it was Independence Day, the event started with A R Rahman's Vandemataram. The audio was released by filmmakers Bala and Lingusamy amid huge applause from the audience. Director Priyadarshan was also present at the event to greet his student A L Vijay. In his address, Bala said Vikram was a great actor and he can do any role with ease.

An AV was staged on screen on G V Prakash Kumar and his journey from 'Veyyil' to 'Thaandavam' was tracked. Songs from 'Thaandavam' were performed and screened at the event.

Vikram said it was a wonderful experience working with Vijay for the film. R Parthiban, Jagapathy Babu, Amy Jackson, Lakshmi Rai and G Dhananjayan of UTV Motion Pictures were present among several others.
