Today the 13th of September marks the 57th birthday of Karthick Muthuraman known as the Navarasa Nayagan who is one of the most loved evergreen heroes of Tamil cinema. His casual screen presence and seemingly effortless ease in expressing a wide array of emotions have put him in a league of his own.

The bundle of energy that Karthick brought to the unforgettable  character of Manohar in Mani Ratnam's 'Mouna Ragam' , the unique way in which he showed the raging fire of a less fortunate step brother in 'Agni Natchathiram' or the intense lover  Vijay who wants the married Manju back in ‘Idaya Thamarai’ are just a few examples of his Navarasam.  If his comic timing and zestful romance made female audiences swoon over him , his signature style in action and powerful emoting won him innumerable fans in all age groups.
