The Vishal-headed Tamil Film Producers' Council has allowed the release of 'Mersal'. With this green signal, the film ('Adirindhi' in Telugu) will very much be released on Oct 18. Ravi Teja's 'Raja The Great' must get ready!

The strike was over the issue of 10 percent Local Body Entertainment Tax over and above the GST. "Tamil Nadu govt allows revised ticket rates for all screens in the State. 8% Local Body Entertainment Tax. Ticket prices regulated after a decade," Sridhar Pillai of IndiaGlitz's Red Carpet tweets.

For the interested, here are the revised ticket rates in TN:

1. Single Screens: Maximum ticket rate is Rs. 80 (non AC), Minimum Rs 30. AC Single Screen highest Rs 100, Lowest Rs 40. Plus GST & LBET.

Single Screen AC Rs 100 (Net) + 8 (LBET)+ 30.24 (GST@28%) =Rs 138.24. Better they Keep Net at Rs 92+7.36 (LBET) + 17.88 (18% GST)= Rs 117.24

2. Multiplex Rate for a Tamil film in TN = Rs 150 (Net) + Rs 12 (LBET, 8% of Net) = Rs 162 + 45.36 GST (28% of Net & Local taxes) = Rs 207.36
