The Telugu Film Producers Council (TFPC) elections will be held on February 19. It was today announced that nominations can be filed by candidates from February 1 to 6. The final submissions will be notified on February 10.

A General Body Meeting will be held on February 19. On the same night, the final result will be made official.

The notification was today made official by TFPC President C Kalyan. The body has acquired greater prominence in recent times, especially in the wake of controversies pertaining to strikes by producers. TFPC has been making its presence felt by trying to resolve issues that concern small producers.

On the film front, producer C Kalyan wants to make a film on Hindu philosopher Ramanujacharya by casting Nandamuri Balakrishna in the titular role. It will be made on a huge scale. The vision is to mount it on an epic scale so that it becomes an international project. "Plans are afoot. An international banner is associated with it. We have the support of Chinnajeeyar Swamy, whose guidance will be crucial," he recently said.
