Director Ashok Pandit says he has been receiving threatening calls from terrorists after the release of his film "Sheen" on the plight of Kashmiri Pandits.

"The movie has raised a lot of eyebrows. I have been getting threatening calls for making this film," Pandit told IANS.

"My family, especially my wife, has got used to getting such calls, so much so that the day when we don't receive a call we feel a bit odd," Pandit added.

The movie was released with a lot of publicity and media support but has not been that successful commercially. Pandit, however, is not complaining.

"I'm quite satisfied with the results. Appreciation means a lot to me. It was a dream of mine to make a film on the plight of the Kashmiris," he maintained.

It's a subject Pandit has tackled before in his documentary "Sharnarthi Apne Hi Desh Mein (Refugees In Their Own Land)" which is also based on displaced Kashmiri Pandits.

Pandit, who has worked with well-known directors like Kundan Shah, Aziz Mirza, Saeed Mirza, Ramesh Talwar, Raman Kumar, Sudhir Mishra, Manjul Sinha and M.S. Sathyu, has directed one of the most successful serials "Filmi Chakkar".

Now, he is getting back to his forte of making comedy.

"I'm currently in the scripting stage. My next film is a complete comedy flick, very entertaining and will get back to my 'Filmi Chakkar' days. I will be approaching the actors only after the script is ready," Pandit said.
