Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy has on Tuesday said in the Lok Sabha that the "concerted and synergized efforts of security forces" during the NDA regime has improved the security situation in Jammu & Kashmir.
"The State has witnessed an improvement in the first half of this year over the corresponding period of 2018. Terrorist initiated incidents saw a decline of 28%, net infiltration reduced by 43%, local recruitment declined by 40% and neutralization of terrorists has increased by 22%," Reddy said.
The Modi government has been criticized often for failing to curb terror financing networks in the Valley. In February this year, the NIA raided the residences of some separatists. As per analysts, such steps will go a long way in breaking the back of separatist violence and terrorism in Kashmir.
