Ten young contenders to direct Chiranjeevi's 150th film
Chiranjeevi's announcement that he is game to work with young directors for his 150th film, if someone comes up with a good entertainment script, has opened debate about who would be the best among the younger lot to direct this prestigious project.
Apart from some big directors like Rajamouli, Boyapati Srinu, Trivikram Srinivas, V.V.Vinayak, Puri Jagannadh, Krishna Vamsi, Sukumar, Sreenu Vaitla, Gunasekhar etc here are some of the young (or less experienced) directors, who have shown promise though they directed only a very few films and could be the director of the landmark film.
Harish Shankar
After the big 'shock' his first film had given, no one expected that he would bounce back so strongly with his second film. But 'Mirapakay' had changed his fortune and landed an opportunity to work with Pawan Kalyan, who had been waiting for a hit then. 'Gabbar Singh' turned out to be an industry hit and Harish Shankar became one of the most sought after young directors in the industry. Even Chiranjeevi said that he is a big fan of 'Gabbar Singh' and would love to work with Harish. So there is a fair chance that this young director would get an opportunity to direct Chiru's 150th film, if he manages to impress the Megastar with his script.
Surender Reddy
Though his career has many ups and downs, Surender Reddy is considered as one of the best mass directors in Telugu. His stylish taking and the way he handles entertainment can make him one of the contenders for the prestigious film.
Vamsi Paidipally
Even Vamsi Paidipally's first film bombed at the box-office. But with his second film 'Brindavanam', he turned heads and became a hot shot director. 'Yevadu' got him foothold as a mass director in the industry. Chiranjeevi expressed his desire to work with him and the ball in his court now. Prepare a good script and get the bumper offer.
Koratala Siva
With back to back hits 'Mirchi' and 'Srimanthudu', writer turned director Koratala Siva proved his potential as a mass director and would be definitely be given priority if he can impress the Megastar with a good script.
Krish
Krish is definitely one of the best directors among the younger lot. With his different and thought provoking subjects, he has carved a niche for himself in Tollywood. With Bollywood film 'Gabbar', he proved that he can also deal commercial subjects well. So he can also be one of the contenders for Chiru's 150th.
Gopichand Malineni
Gopichand Malineni is turning out to be one of the best mass directors in the younger brigade. He has already shown his 'Balupu' and with his previous film, he proved that he can handle entertaining subjects well. So he can also be one of the contenders.
Sampath Nandi
With 'Racha', Sampath Nandi has shown his ability as a mass director. He even got a call from Pawan Kalyan to direct 'Gabbar Singh 2'. Though he missed it, he can also given a chance.
Deva Katta
Though his last film 'Autonagar Surya' didn't fare well at the box-office, Deva Katta proved that he can also handle commercial subjects well. With 'Prasthanam', he became an overnight sensation. Though he directed only a very few films, he can also be one of the best choices.
K.S.Ravindra (Bobby)
He is only one film old as a director. But by bagging the big offer to direct Pawan Kalyan's 'Sardaar Gabbar Singh', K.S.Ravindra (Bobby) is the cynosure of all eyes now. His first film 'Power' was a powerful hit and so this young director can also be one of the contenders for Chiranjeevi's landmark film.
Anil Ravipudi
Though he directed just one film, Anil Ravipudi has shown his caliber as a director. The way he laced commercial elements in a very entertaining subject made him a director to watch out for. There would be a great opportunity for him if he impresses Chiranjeevi with a good subject. But his inexperience may be considered.
