The great underworld don whose daughter has left years ago, accidentally meets her again when she's having a family of her own with a son and the don(Velu Naicker) is excited as well as emotional seeing his daughter after a long time. Naicker's daughter hasn't changed her mind in time and is embarassed to have him at her house and wants him to leave the place immediately. ÂNayakan is an action film but even in that Kamal made his root for him with his emotional action mainly in this particular scene. While any actor could have done this well written scene in a good manner, Kamal would have lifted it to new levels making it remembered by the very last fan of Tamil cinema.
Varumayin Niram Sivappu (1980)

Unnal Mudiyum Thambi (1988)
Directed by K.Balachander, our generation probably had started to cherish the quintessential performer Kamal from this film which often had been telecasted in television channels. The scene where Kamal explains his father that he had to skip the Carnatic concert of that day due to a fire accident stands out still as an example for dialogue delivery. Kamal Haasan is in prison and meets his family members. He comes to know that his daughter has attained puberty. He gets extremely happy for that like a typical father but at the same time his grief gets intensified by the fact that he cannot be with his daughter at this important moment of life. He struggles but fails to control he tears of joy as well as sorry flowing down from his eyes. Our eyes gets moisture even while describing this scene and that is mainly because of the way the Ulaganayagan performed it.
