Even as there is a speculation that Jagapathi will be Vijay's villain in a forthcoming film, it's now official that he will be Vishal's antagonist in Mysskin's Thupparivalan. Rakul Preet Singh is the heroine.

The actor has reportedly charged Rs. 1.30 cr for this film. The director has been quoted as saying that Jaggu Bhai was first reluctant to play yet another character with "grey shades", but when he was narrated the character, he accepted to do the film.
