'Kabir Singh' has made Rs 68 Cr (nett) in India as of the end of Sunday. This 3-day figure is phenomenal for a Shahid Kapoor movie. The Hindi remake of 'Arjun Reddy' ducked the competition from the India-Af match on Saturday, and made the most of the weekend. On Sunday, it collected Rs 26 Cr, exceeding the expectations.
Meanwhile, the film continues to spark debates on social media for its "problematic" portrayal of love. The term "toxic masculinity" has been used to describe 'KS' by many commentators.
The Telugu director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, however, has redeemed himself as far as commercial success is concerned. Earlier, he defended the scenes in the film, saying that he has not objectified any woman. He even described the film's trenchant critics as "pseudo-feminists".
