Popular Telugu actress and former Air Hostess Sangeetha Chatterjee has been arrested by the Police in Kolkata on Wednesday.

Sangeetha was working as a Air hostess in Kolkata and developed a relationship with Lakshman who has been running a Red Sanders Smuggling Racket in Andhra Pradesh. The duo eventually entered wedlock.

Lakshman was arrested by the Andhra Pradesh Police in July 2014. Based on investigation with Lakshman, the Police raided the house of Sangeetha in Kolkata and seized some important documents relating to Red Sanders smuggling. It is also said that. staying in Kolkata, Sangeetha has been taking care of the smuggling and Hawala transactions of Lakshman.

Sangeetha was immediately arrested and produced in the Kolkata Court which granted bail for her.

Further the case is being heard in Andhra Pradesh Court. The court had summoned Sangeetha for six times but still she hasn't appeared in front of the Court. So the Judge issued an arrest warrant against Sangeetha.

A team of police officials from AP stayed in Kolkata for over 15 days and they have arrested Sangeetha on Monday night. She was produced in the residence of the Chithoor district Court Judge who has been hearing the case. The judge has ordered to keep her in Judicial custody for 14 days. .

The AP Police will apparently seek Police custody of Sangeetha and start investigating her. It is said that many big names involved in the Red Sanders Smuggling racket are expected to be revealed in the investigation with Sangeetha.
