Television actress Srilakshmi passes away

Popular Television actress Srilakshmi Kanakala passed away a few hours back in Hyderabad after battling cancer for a long time. She is survived by her husband Peddi Rama Rao and daughters Ragaleena and Prerna.  Her brother Rajeev Kanakala and sister in law Suma Kanakala are also popular actors and producers in the Telugu, Kannada and Tamil film industries.

Incidentally, Srilakshmi’s father the legendary actor-playright Devadas Kanakala passed away in August 2019 and her mother Lakshmi a year earlier in 2018.  Srilakshmi was known for her roles in ‘Rajasekara Charithra’, Ruthu Geetham, Super Mom, Chinnari and Agnipoolu.

A family spokesperson has requested fans not to visit Srilakshmi’s home due to the threat posed by coronavirus pandemic and has requested privacy at the time of extreme grief.
