Delhi and Mumbai, among others, might have the fourth wave but Telangana is safe. Telangana's Director of Public Health is confident that the State is safe.
As per a serological survey done recently, more than 90% of the population of the state has developed antibodies against Covid-19. This makes them secure from infection. "About 92.9% of Telangana has antibodies against the virus and more than 97% in Hyderabad are immune already (due to vaccination or infection," a report says.
This is not to say that there won't be an increase in the cases. The expert has asked the people to follow Covid-19 protocols. While the numbers will go up, the kind of startling figures seen during the second wave won't be witnessed this time. The fourth wave will be milder than the third one, it is suggested, albeit not in overt terms.
India currently runs an active caseload of 13,433 infections. Delhi and Mumbai are seeing a surge. But there is no pressure on the healthcare sector. The healthcare infrastructure is hardly overwhelmed at this rate even if the caseload mounts up.
