'Arjuna Phalguna' and other releases today have hit a roadblock in Telangana, with multiplexes going to the extent of charging each ticket at Rs 295 (the maximum price). The opening day collections for these movies are weak because most of the audience have not shown interest due to unaffordable pricing. Hundreds have been complaining about the rates on social media.
In view of the expected backlash, the Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce today held a presser and confirmed that the prices will be reduced from Saturday (January 1). The distributors have asked exhibitors to slash down prices for small movies. And the exhibitors have obliged.
The Chamber assured the audience that their satisfaction is of their utmost priority.
The prices of snacks and beverages will also be reduced at screens other than those run by national chain of multiplexes.
The maximum ticket price of Rs 295 will be levied only on big-ticket, superstar movies such as 'Pushpa', 'RRR' and 'Radhe Shyam' from now. Audience will be happy to spend a high amount to watch big movies.
