Telangana on April 28 (till 8 PM) registered as many as 7994 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours. A little more than 4000 recoveries were also registered, while deaths were 58 in number.
The State has got a little more than 76,000 active cases at present.
While Telangana's case fatality rate is better than the all-India average, the recovery rate is lagging behind the national average.
Meanwhile, G Srinivas Rao, the Director of Public Health, has stated that Telangana is in a position to control the outbreak in 3-4 weeks. He also added, amid speculations, that the government has no plans to impose a lockdown. Night curfews seem to be the only thing on the KCR government's agenda. And night curfews are expected to be eased by mid-May.
