Ananda Bhaskar Rapolu, the former Rajya Sabha member, has on Thursday enlisted himself with the Bharatiya Janata Party. The BJP leader and Union Minister JP Nadda welcomed him in New Delhi.
Rapolu was a senior Congress leader for 25 years. He quit the party last month and since then there were speculations about his saffron turn. During the December 2018 Assembly elections, he had sought a ticket from Congress to contest from Palakurthy. However, he didn't get any.
"The BJP has proven that it respects regional aspirations while promoting nationalistic fervour," Rapolu today said.
