Sankranti celebrations are in full swing across Telugu states and are marked by vibrant festivities. Kite festivals are being organized at multiple venues. These events draw large crowds who participate or simply enjoy watching the spectacle. The government of Telangana is also organizing a Kite Festival in Telangana for three days now.
Adding to the festive spirit, the 7th International Kite Festival is being held at the Parade Ground in Hyderabad over three days. Organized by the state’s Tourism, Language, and Culture Department, the event will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy at 4 PM today. The festival features 47 international kite flyers from 19 countries, alongside 54 national kite flyers representing 14 states.
Participants include professionals from Indonesia, Switzerland, Australia, Sri Lanka, Canada, Cambodia, Scotland, Thailand, Korea, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Italy, Taiwan, South Africa, and the Netherlands. Athletes from Indian states such as Gujarat, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana are also part of the lineup.
The festival will run daily from 10 AM to 8 PM. The attendees are expected to arrive from across both Telugu states to witness this grand event. The entry is free for all.
