Telangana issues new vaccination updates

The Telangana government has opened up vaccination for the 18-44 age group. And it has now started letting private hospitals (among those identified already as private vaccination centres) carry out vaccination in the hospitals and also in workplaces. This is in step with the Union Government recently allowing workplace vaccination.
The PVCs have to take up the task of workplace vaccination on the basis of requests made by concerned companies, gated communities, institutions, etc.
As per the central policy, CoWin registration is mandatory.
In a positive step, the KCR government also moved the needle on getting several sections of working-class people vaccinated. Among them are LPG delivery staff, fair-price shop dealers, petrol pump workers, auto and cab drivers, etc. A report says that vegetable vendors, kirana shop owners and others are also eligible.
While this exists on paper, everything is subject to the availability of vaccines. As of now, there is no end to the shortage of vaccines. At an all-India level, shortages are going to be there till August at least. Telangana is no different. Private hospitals will decide on the charges.
