For weeks, Telangana couldn't be analyzed properly because of inadequate testing and data. Even now, the testing is inadequate. And, following Thursday's decision, testing has been stopped for two days in GHMC limits.
With whatever data is available officially, Prof. Shamika Ravi has analyzed the state of affairs in the Telugu State. Here are some of her scientific, data-driven inferences:
Telangana has the 10th highest total caseload in India.
It has the highest growth rate of active cases in India.
It has the second-lowest tests per million: 1802.
Total cases are doubling in 7 days.
Active cases are doubling in 5 days. This is the highest in the country.
Recovered cases are doubling in 13 days.
Number of deaths is doubling in 32 days.
Based on a 7-day moving average, the Professor analyzes the data related to new cases daily.
Telangana is adding approximately 875 cases daily. The State has the highest count of new cases after the three hotspots of Maharashtra, Delhi, and Tamil Nadu.
Confirmed positive cases per 100 tests are 16%, which is only next to Maharashtra and Delhi (both of which have a much higher number of cases).
