A panel of the HC today vented its disappointment over the lockdown policy of the government. It observed that it had favoured an extension of night curfew and weekend curfew in the past, but the government has not responded in tune with its remarks.
Tweeting on the development, lawyer Karam Komireddy wrote, "The Telangana High Court while hearing PILs related to COVID-19 today took a serious view on Chief Secretary's remarks that lockdown is not necessary. The CS has made this remark on the same day the HC had suggested the govt to consider a total lockdown."
He had earlied said, "Telangana is the only State where there is no lockdown. Night curfew was imposed after the High Court issued an ultimatum. State govt ignored repeated suggestions from HC to impose a lockdown. While we battle Covid 19 pandemic Telangana has no full time health minister."
The HC today also expressed dissatisfaction over the stopping of ambulances entering the State on borders.
