At a time when vaccination in the country is not optimal, the Telangana High Court today asked the KCR government why it's not doing vaccination 24/7. This comes in the wake of several States reportedly keeping vaccination counters open throughout the day and night.
The court also asked the government to file a new status report on Covid-19 within 48 hours. It was hearing a Public Interest Litigation which said that Rapid antigen tests are almost 90% of the total tests conducted in the State. The HC wants the more reliable RT-PCR tests to be conducted more.
Last month, Telangana was said to have a very high degree of wastage of vaccines. When Prime Minister Modi put the number at more than 17%, the state claimed that it was not even 1%.
The court today also asked the governemnt if it is doing something to restrict gatherings for weddings, etc.
In another news, the Gujarat High Court asked the government to impose a lockdown for 3-4 days in view of the raising cases.
