The recent bestowment of the Padma Vibhushan, the second-highest civilian award, upon Chiranjeevi, the legendary actor, and former Union Minister, sparked an atmosphere of jubilation throughout the Tollywood and Telugu fraternity. Marking a momentous occasion in Telugu cinema, the honor was celebrated as a festival, reflecting the profound impact of Chiranjeevi's contributions. In recognition of this achievement, the Telangana government took a commendable step to felicitate Chiranjeevi and other Padma Awardees, adding to the grandeur of this remarkable event. The felicitation will take place at Shilpakala Vedika, starting from 10 AM on 4 Feb 2024.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, in a thoughtful gesture, personally extended an invitation to Chiranjeevi and Venkaiah Naidu, the Vice President of India and a prominent political figure, through Tourism and Culture Minister Jupally Krishna Rao. Minister Rao had the privilege of meeting and honoring Chiranjeevi at Annapurna Studios and Venkaiah Naidu at his residence in Jubilee Hills. The memorable occasion marked a fitting tribute to the exceptional achievements of these distinguished individuals.
The event will acknowledge not only Chiranjeevi's and Naidu's contributions to cinema and politics, respectively, but also recognize the extraordinary accomplishments of Padma Shri recipients from Telangana. Notable personalities like Dasari Kondappa, Gaddam Sammaiah, Ananda Chary, Kurella Vitalacharya, and Kethavath Somlal, each recognized for their significant contributions to literature and education, will be honored during this prestigious ceremony.
It's noteworthy that the state government's accolade is distinct from the upcoming event planned by the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, which is set to unveil details about its own event. This dual recognition showcases the widespread acknowledgment of the exemplary achievements and contributions made by these Padma Awardees, further solidifying their legacy in their respective fields.
The upcoming celebration in Telangana not only honors the achievements of Chiranjeevi, Venkaiah Naidu, and other Padma Awardees but also reflects the state government's commitment to recognizing and appreciating excellence in various domains. This momentous occasion will serve as an inspiration for aspiring artists, educators, politicians, and individuals across all walks of life, encouraging them to strive for greatness and make meaningful contributions to society.
