While the nationwide lockdown was recently extended from May 4 till May 17, now the Telangana government has announced that it will continue the lockdown in the state till May 29 to avoid the spread of infection.

After a 7 hours cabinet meeting, Chief minister of Telangana K Chandrashekhar Rao has said that people want the lockdown to be extended and that he had already informed the Prime Minister about the government decision.

Telangana has six districts in red zone, 18 in orange and nine in green zone. While Centre has permitted opening shops even in the red zone, Telangana has not opened shops in the most affected Hyderabad, Medchal, Suryapet, Vikarabad. Telangana currently has 1,096 Coronavirus cases of coronavirus with 439 under treatment and 628 discharged.
