Telangana's first Home Minister (2014-18), Nayani Narasimha Reddy, breathed his last on Wednesday night due to coronavirus-related health complications. The 76-year-old politician was being treated at Apollo Hospital at Hyderabad's Jubilee Hills for a dialysis course. The TRS leader had developed health complications after he contracted COVID-19.
A three-time MLA, a one-time MLC and a two-time Minister (he served in the YS Rajasekhar Reddy cabinet as well between 2004-06), Narasimha Reddy rose from the level of a trade union leader. Known for his organizational skills, he was a passionate leader of the Telangana movement. After the attainment of Statehood, his stature rose in Telangana. KCR befittingly made him the Home Minister.
The Chief Minister has said that Reddy's demise is saddening. He remembered his contributions to the Telangana movement in the 2000s and 2010s.
IndiaGlitz condoles the politician's demise. May his soul attain sadgati!
