Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Wednesday categorically said that there are no plans to impose a full lockdown in the State. This comes at a time when the other Telugu State has got a curfew for 18 hours a day from today.

Touching upon the issue of vaccination, the CS said that talks are on with Centre to procure 3.4 crore vaccines that Telangana needs for the 18-44 age group. Revealing the figures, he said that the State currently has got only 3.9 lakh doses. Before the State doesn't acquire adequate number of vaccines, the age group won't be catered to.

What about the more pressing issues of medical infrastructure? The CS claimed that there is no shortage of beds, Oxygen, or Remdesivir in the State. "With the pandemic being brought under control, the situation is improving in the State," he added.

The claim regarding beds and other infrastructure has caught many Netizens by a surprise. The ground reality is reportedly quite the opposite.
