Telangana CM Revanth Reddy shocks Tollywood: Lays Tough Conditions for any Concessions

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has introduced a unique condition for the Tollywood film industry, tying government support for their big-budget productions to their participation in social awareness campaigns.

While acknowledging the industry's need for higher ticket rates and additional showtimes, Revanth Reddy stated that "it is good to ask for increases for your business, but there should be responsibility towards society."

He announced that the government will only provide necessary permissions and facilities for film productions if they commit to creating awareness videos about drug abuse and cybercrime. These videos, featuring the film's cast, should be shown before the start of each film.

Revanth Reddy emphasized the importance of combating these issues, stating that "cybercrime is the biggest problem facing the world" and that "drugs are the cause of terrible incidents against children." He commended Megastar Chiranjeevi for his involvement in a drug awareness program and urged other actors to follow suit.

Government's Anti-Drug and Cybercrime Initiatives

Reddy's comments came during the inauguration of the Cyber Security Bureau and Anti-Narcotics Bureau's new vehicle fleet at the Hyderabad Police Command Control Center. He highlighted the government's commitment to combating these societal issues, emphasizing the need for self-confidence and proactive measures.

The Chief Minister stressed the urgency of addressing the growing drug problem, stating that "the youth of Telangana are not addicted to drugs. They should be able to fight the problems." He pledged to support those working effectively in drug control and to discuss the issue further in the state legislature.

Media's Role in Social Awareness

Revanth Reddy also called upon the media to play a more prominent role in highlighting social issues. He urged them to focus on problems in society and to amplify the need for awareness and prevention.
