After meeting Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, producer, and FDC Chairman Dil Raju provided insights into the discussion. Addressing the media, Dil Raju explained that the meeting aimed to resolve any misunderstandings between the government and the film industry, especially following the unfortunate stampede incident at Sandhya Theater.
According to Dil Raju, CM Revanth Reddy emphasized the importance of elevating Telugu cinema globally, surpassing its current recognition within India. He proposed making Hyderabad an international hub for filmmaking by providing facilities to attract Hollywood productions. The CM encouraged the industry to collaborate with the government to achieve this vision, aligning with his ambition to boost the Telangana brand.
In addition, CM Revanth Reddy urged the film industry to proactively raise awareness about drug and narcotics eradication. Actors and key figures from the industry will participate in campaigns to address this issue. Dil Raju acknowledged the CM's vision and assured the industry would support these efforts.
To streamline problem-solving, the CM suggested forming a committee comprising representatives from the government, the Film Development Corporation, and industry leaders. This committee will address challenges and propose solutions for the sector’s growth. Dil Raju also mentioned that another meeting would be organized soon to finalize plans and strategies.
Dil Raju dismissed controversies surrounding minor issues such as ticket price hikes and benefit shows, emphasizing that they were not significant concerns. Instead, the focus would be on strengthening the partnership between the government and the industry to enhance Telangana's reputation, facilitate the shooting of international films in Hyderabad, and advance Telugu cinema's global reach.
