The Pre-release event of 'Tej I Love You' was held on Saturday evening amid fanfare. Chiranjeevi graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, producer KS Rama Rao said, "Megastar garu has come today to this event because he loves me, not because he loves Sai Dharam Tej. I can say it proudly. That's why he is always the Megastar. He looks domineering but he is a lovely person whom his technicians and colleagues always like to look up to. He is not just a South Indian Megastar but also an Indian Megastar. He respects everybody equally. I wish that the industry keeps learning from him. I thank my entire team for bringing out 'Tej' so well." He said sorry to director Karunakaran for causing any hurt. "We are like brothers. I might have sounded harsh to him quite many times. It's Karunakaran who has penned the dialogues and Darling Swamy has only translated them," he added.
Karunakaran was emotional about standing on the same dais as Chiranjeevi. "When I was an AD in Chennai, I would try my best to catch a glimpse of Annayya. And I would do that every day in the hope that I would be able to see Annayya at least once," he said. He remembered his tryst with Pawan Kalyan on the occasion.
Sai Dharam Tej said, "I thank Mavayya for being here. The first face that I see every day in the morning is the photo of Mavayya. I like to see his smile. Whenever I have been down, Mega fans have stood by me. They have given me all strength with their unconditional support. Coming to this film, I really had fun working with Anupama. I thoroughly enjoyed all the songs of Gopi Sundar garu while shooting. I thank my singers, lyricists, and all the technicians."
Chiranjeevi said began his speech by acknowledging the love of Mega fans. He was all praise for KS Rama Rao, whose Creative Commercials made hits like 'Abilasha', 'Challenge', 'Rakshasudu' and 'Marana Mrudangam' with him in the 1980s. "If Rama Rao garu is still around, it's because of his 'abhiruchi' and 'abilasha'. He is a producer of rich taste. He knows what kind of stories to select. Very few producers have had this kind of longevity. He is somewhat dissatisfied that he is not producing the kind of movies he used to in the 1980s. I am glad that he has made a film like 'Tej'. I hope it will be a big hit," Chiru said.
He said that Ram Charan will work with Rama Rao after the Rajamouli movie. Chiru also expressed regret over the fact that 'Stuartpuram Police Station' made with Yandamuri Veerendranath as the director despite Rama Rao having reservations about the novelist.
Praising Karunakaran, Chiru said that 'Toli Prema' is still fresh in his minds. "Every time I think of that movie, I see Pawan in white and white. Such is the impact of the movie. Karunakaran hasn't been making enough number of movies. It's an injustice when young directors like him don't make movies regularly," the 'Sye Raa' actor said.
About Sai Dharam Tej, Chiru said, "I am glad he works really hard much like Mega family's other heroes. If he makes any mistakes, I am the first one to chide him before my his mother does."
