Karunakaran-directed 'Tej I Love You' hit the screens this Friday.  In this interview, the director says that the film is going to be a hit.  Catch him talk about what he thinks went right with the film, working with Sai Dharam and Anupama Parameswaran and more.  

How is the response to the film?

The response is very good.  The audience are receiving the realistic scenes very well. Compared to my other films, this film comes with a distinct screenplay.  My friends and relatives are telling me they have loved the film.  We are hoping that 'Tej I Love You' will be a big hit.

Have you watched 'Tej I Love You' with audience?

I have visited all the theatres in Hyderabad where the film is playing.  The response has been huge everywhere.  Mega fans are supporting it totally.  Everybody is enjoying the movie thoroughly.  I am very happy with their response.  

How do you describe the making values of KS Rama Rao?

This is my second film with Creative Commercials.  As soon as the producer listened to the story, he said it's beautiful and gave the green signal.  This is the 45th film for him.  He judges the stories so well.  He is a genius.  His experience came in handy for the movie.  We all worked hard to give the audience the best.  I thank KS Rama Rao garu for this beautiful film.  He is quite happy as a producer.

What are people saying about Sai Dharam Tej's character?

He has given an outstanding performance.  His dances and fights are extraordinary.  The audiences are enjoying the film laughing out loud.  Although the film is a family love story, it has got entertainment in terms of two action scenes.  They have come out very well. The fights come as part of the story.  They are not forced.

To what extent has Gopi Sundar's music been a plus?  What about I Andrew's cinematography?

Gopi Sundar is a genius.  'Adiga Adiga' and 'Andamaina Chandamama' are big hits.  The background score is extraordinary.  His work is one of the main highlights.  It was with 'Ullasanga Uthsahanga' that Andrew was introduced.  He has been traveling with me ever since.  When I narrate a scene, he understands what is there in my mind and visualizes it as it is.  He has picturized the songs and the scenes quite well.  Sahi Suresh's art direction is another highlight.  

Not just these technical aspects, even 'Darling' Swamy's dialogues are so nice.  I thank my entire team.  Many producers, friends among directors and others are congratulating us on the movie.  The audience are laughing out loud in the theatres.  That's the best compliment I can have.  

How was it working with Anupama Parameswaran?

Anupama is as amazing as a new painting.  Her performance, too, is amazing.  She lived the character.  She is mesmerizing the audience with her eyes.  Boys and girls alike are loving her character.     

Are you disappointed that you have not delivered a hit like 'Toli Prema' after your debut film?

I did 'Toli Prema' without getting tensed.  I enjoyed doing it.  It turned out to be a trendsetting movie.  The audience has given the film a place in their hearts.  I am trying to do such a film once again.  There is always pressure.  So much so, I shiver.  Not every film can be a 'Toli Prema'.  But I try to reach its standards.  I like to make movies which can be enjoyed by all sections of audiences.  That's what I believe in.  

What is your upcoming project?

I have so many stories ready.  I am enjoying the success of 'Tej I Love You' now.
