In 2019, a minor girl was stabbed 17 times by a degree student for refusing his love proposal. This incident happened in Barkathpura. The accused in this case was convicted by a local court on Monday and he was pronounced 10 years of Rigorous Imprisonment.

The incident took place in February, 2019 and it created a sensation when the accused 19 year old Bharat attacked the 17 year old girl using a knife while she was going to college.

The convict, who resides near the residence of the victim, followed the movements of the victim on a daily basis and on the day of the incident, he attacked her with a knife by stabbing her 17 times.

Thankfully, the victim survived as she was taken to the hospital immediately by the locals. After the offence, the accused was booked under sections 307, 354-D, 341 of IPC apart from Arms Act and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
