Shah Rukh Khan and team 'Raees' had a light-hearted, fun interaction with the media yesterday on the success of 'Raees,' which has already surpassed the 250 crore mark worldwide.
The press conference had the likes of King Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Ritesh Sidhwani. Joining them finally was SRK's co-star Mahira Khan, who was virtually present via a video call and addressed the Indian media for the first time.
Mahira was immensely excited to be a part of the press conference and the media had a lot of questions for her. When asked about how she feels about the stupendous success of the film, she expresses her gratitude and says, "I wasn't expecting such an amazing response and so it's just surpassed everything I could've imagined."
The actress looked pretty in her "Zaalima" t-shirt and when asked about her favorite song from the film, she immediately said it's "Zaalima" and also expressed how popular it is in Pakistan. She remarked, "It's playing here, everywhere, in every nook and corner. I love it. It is a really nice song and I have some really good memories."
'Raees' has been entertaining the audience with SRK's new gangster avatar, the movie's thrilling sequences and hard hitting dialogues and is doing outstanding business. Raees gathers 6.6 crore on Friday. The film has accumulated 128.96 crore so far in India and $11.60 million (78.88 crore) overseas. Total worldwide gross is 259.42 crore.
Producer Ritesh Sidhwani shared his emotions on the reactions of the cine-goers towards the film. He said, "We're always happy if the film is being appreciated and unique combination hai ki you've got critical acclaim as well as the box office numbers. Box office numbers equate to the number of people. I've been told that families, parents and even kids have enjoyed the film. They've adopted the dialogues so much that it is being used in daily lingo! So I think that's what gives you the gratification that people have really enjoyed the film."
SRK was in a rather jovial mood and expressed how he thoroughly enjoyed the journey of 'Raees' and especially doing a garba song, "Udi Udi Jaaye," something he's never attempted before, even though he admitted it was a difficult dance form to learn.
Talking about dance moves, the serious actor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui expressed his keen desire of being a part of the 'Zaalima' track and how he would've actually loved doing the song with Mahira! His unique 'Michael Jackson' entry in the movie was highly applauded by everyone as he was seen doing something he has never done before!
