Teach Modi a bit about diplomacy: Rahul Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi feels that Narendra Modi had recently endorsed Donald Trump during the Howdy Modi event in Texas, US. Media's interpretation of the Prime Minister's 'Abki baar, Trump sarkar' line is the reason for it. The Congress party took the line that Modi had taken sides by trying to influence the US presidential election.

Reacting to the criticism, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar today remarked that Modi was not siding with Trump. He said that the PM was only repeating what Trump had used to pitch his candidature.

Nevertheless, Rahul Gandhi today accused Modi of taking sides. "Thank you Mr Jaishankar for covering up our PM’s incompetence. His fawning endorsement caused serious problems with the Democrats for India. I hope it gets ironed out with your intervention. While you are at it, do teach him a little bit about diplomacy," he tweeted out.
