M Ravindranatha Reddy has tendered his resignation as MLC on Friday following the Governor of AndhraPradesh giving his assent to the Bill pertaining to three capitals. The TDP MLC said in his resignation letter that he feels there is no meaning in continuing in the Legislative Council that carries no importance.
In his letter, Reddy said that the Governor's assent is unconstitutional and illegal. He said that the Bill was not passed in the Council and that it was referred to a Select Committee. "It's undemocratic for such a Bill to be given assent by the Governor," Reddy wrote in the letter.
The political leader said that some of the provisions ensured by the Act passed by the Parliament for the reorganization of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh are yet to be implemented. In this scenario, he said, new issues have cropped up with the repeal of the CRDA.
