It's known that Telangana and Andhra Pradesh now have a separate High Court each. Starting from today (January 1), the two States will have their own HCs at Hyderabad and Vijayawada, respectively.
On Tuesday, Thottathil B Radhakrishnan took the oath as the first Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court. Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana ESL Narasimhan administered the oath to the justice at the Raj Bhavan in Hyderabad.
As per an official statement, a good chunk of employees of the erstwhile common High Court of Hyderabad is now posted in Vijayawada.
The AP government is building a judicial complex for the State's High Court. This will be ready by the end of this month. For the time being, the AP HC will function from the Chief Minister's camp office.
